Victor CHEN Yee Fei is a Malaysian film producer, scriptwriter and director in both film and advertising. He believes in bringing together ideas, talents and resources, and breathing life and creativity into stories, from script to screen. Victor appreciates working in an invigorating collaborative effort in creating original content and films.

His directorial debut short film, "My Ba's Radio" was screened at Short Shorts Film Festival (Japan, 2017), Asian World Film Festival (USA, 2017) to name a few, before winning Best Short Film at the Mantova Lovers Film Festival (Italy, 2019) and Panasonic Digital Short Film Competition (Malaysia, 2016). "Mindframe", a short film which he produced under Transitional Cinema was awarded the Judges Honourable Mention at BMW Shorties 2022. His recent producing credits include "阿嬤 Ah Ma", "INMATES" and "男孩Boys" which were all selected as the Top Ten Finalists with 13 nominations at BMW Shorties 2023.

 

He was the runner-up of Hypp TV reality show competition "I Want To Be A Filmmaker" (Malaysia, 2015) and went on to intern at Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios for international productions such as  Netflix’s 'Marco Polo'. He was also involved in "Polis Evo 3" under the script panel/ writers room.

Apart from filmmaking, he is actively involved in community engagements through organising Outdoor Cinema, film screening and discussion, workshops and talks, and youth empowerment programmes. He pursues his aspiration as a scholar at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), in which he is involved in Virtual Reality (VR) research.
